Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 12, 2026
1. Introduction
TextHerTomorrow ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application and website.
This app is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Contact Information
- Guardian and Succubus contact information (phone numbers, selected from your device contacts and stored locally on your device)
2.2 Device Permissions
- Contacts: The app requests access to your device contacts solely to let you select your Guardian and Succubus. Contact data is not uploaded or shared beyond this purpose.
- Clipboard: When sending a message via Instagram (which does not support pre-filled text), the app temporarily copies your message to the clipboard to allow you to paste it manually. The clipboard content is never stored or transmitted.
- Notifications: A push notification token (OneSignal Subscription ID) is generated on your device and stored in our database to enable Guardian approval notifications.
2.3 Usage Data
- Drunk Mode activation timestamps
- App usage statistics (anonymized via Firebase Analytics)
- Crash reports and error logs
3. Accessibility Service
TextHerTomorrow uses Android's Accessibility Service exclusively to detect and block access to messaging apps (WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.) while Drunk Mode is active.
This service does not read, record, or transmit any content you type, view, or interact with in other apps. It does not capture passwords, messages, or any on-screen data. The Accessibility Service is only active while Drunk Mode is enabled and is used solely to display the app-blocking overlay.
We do not use this permission for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond the core blocking functionality described above.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide the core functionality of TextHerTomorrow:
- To enable Guardian approval requests when Drunk Mode is active
- To deliver push notifications between you and your Guardian
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
Legal basis (GDPR): Processing is based on your explicit consent, given at the time you configure the app. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us or uninstalling the app.
5. Data Storage & Retention
All data is stored securely using Firebase services (Google Cloud infrastructure). We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Your Guardian and Succubus contacts are stored securely using Firebase's built-in encryption and only used for the intended functionality.
No user account is created. Data stored locally on your device (contacts, preferences, notification token) is removed when you uninstall the app. To request deletion of any data associated with your phone number in our database, contact us at [email protected].
6. International Data Transfers
Your data may be stored and processed outside of your country of residence, including in the United States, where Google (Firebase) and other service providers operate their infrastructure. These transfers are carried out in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR, using standard contractual clauses where required.
7. We Never Send Messages For You
TextHerTomorrow only blocks, intercepts, and delays messages. We never send messages on your behalf. Only your Guardian can approve outgoing messages, and you remain in control at all times. The app opens WhatsApp or Instagram with your message pre-filled — you always press Send yourself.
8. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each of which may process some of your data as described:
- Firebase (Google) — Firestore database, Analytics, Hosting
- OneSignal — Push notification delivery between users and their Guardians. Only your notification subscription ID is shared. OneSignal Privacy Policy
- Render — Our notification relay server (stateless Node.js). It transmits push notification requests between the app and OneSignal but stores no personal data.
- Google Play Services — Android platform services
9. Your Rights
Under applicable law (including GDPR for EU/EEA residents), you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Delete your data — uninstall the app to remove local data, or contact us to remove any server-side data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g., CNIL in France)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
